Step One: Accept the reality around you that this is not a center-right country.
Step Two: Apologize for trying to make it seem that way.
Step Three: Stop Lying.
Step Four: Stop being greedy

Step 5: Start listening to your constituents.
Step 6: Admit your mistakes and attempt to make them right.
Step 7: Realize that even though something may be theoretically sound, it may not be the best solution.
Step 8: Once something fails, you should consider trying a different approach.
Step 9: Believe in the separation of Church and State.
